Where batts shine

Batts are the classic blanket insulation sized to fit snugly between studs, joists, and rafters. For open framing — new construction, additions, garages, and interior walls — they are fast, clean, easy to inspect before drywall, and cost-effective. They also add strong sound control between rooms.

Installation makes the difference

Batt performance lives and dies on installation. Gaps and compression around wiring leave thermal holes that waste energy. Our crews cut and fit each batt properly — splitting around wires, filling corners, and avoiding compression — so you get the full rated R-value, not a paper number.

Faced or unfaced?

Faced batts include a vapor retarder; unfaced batts do not. In Florida's cooling-dominated, inward-vapor-drive climate the choice matters, and getting it wrong can trap moisture. We specify the right assembly for your wall and exposure.

Insulation costs in Southwest Florida

Installed pricing depends on square footage, target R-value, attic access, and whether old material has to come out first. Here is where installed pricing generally lands locally — and we itemize every quote so you can compare honestly.

Southwest Florida is IECC climate zone 2A. The recommended attic target here is R-49 to R-60 — roughly 15.5 to 19 inches of blown fiberglass at settled depth. If you can see your ceiling joists across the attic, you are well below that.

Frequently asked questions

How much does batt insulation cost in Cape Coral?

Fiberglass batts run about $0.90 to $2.10 per square foot installed, depending on R-value, wall type, and access. New-construction pricing is quoted per plan.

Are batts good for Florida walls?

Yes, for open framing they are proven and affordable, and excellent for sound control. For existing closed walls we usually recommend dense-pack blown-in or foam instead.

Should I use faced or unfaced batts?

It depends on the assembly and exposure — the wrong vapor barrier can trap moisture in Florida's climate. We specify the correct one after reviewing your walls.
